2 Scope

2.1 These requirements establish multiple attribute sustainability criteria for slate style tablet computers, including the packaging and all components shipped in the box with the tablet computer. Separate requirements for the tablet, external power supply, cables and other accessories shipped in the box are included. A slate style tablet computer is defined as a portable computer primarily using a touch screen with or without a stylus for input, without a permanently attached keyboard and a writing pad or writing slate form factor. Not included are convertible tablet computers (computers having a rotating screen permanently attached to a keyboard) and hybrid tablets (computers sold with a removable keyboard and additionally having a touch screen for input). Slate style tablet computers sold bundled with a keyboard accessory are included in the scope.

2.2 These requirements apply to products that are or will be available for purchase at the time of certification.
