SUMMARY OF TOPICS

The following changes in requirements to the Standard for Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials, UL 263, are being proposed:

1. (A) Removal of the use of thermometers to measure temperatures on the unexposed surfaces, (B) Introduction of the use of a cotton pad test to determine conditions sufficient to ignite cotton waste on unexposed surfaces and (C) Expansion of the requirement to reference compliance with ASTM E2794 in reports describing fire tests on beam assemblies

2. Introduction of tests on ceiling membranes

3. Introduction of measuring and reporting furnace pressure
