2 Scope

   1. 1) Autodish Detergent;

   2. 2) Warewash Detergent;

Summary of Topics

This new second edition of UL 2700 dated April 6, 2026, includes the following changes in requirements:

– Add use of enzymes in cleaning products: 6.10;

– Remove requirements covering hard-floor care products;

– Combine preservative and antimicrobial criteria: 6.6;

– Update definition of microplastics and remove thickeners criteria;

– Update requirements for Skin and eye corrosion or damage: 6.5;

– Update lethal dose toxicity requirements: 6.3;

– Update requirements for fragrances: 6.7;

– Clarify requirements for Product Efficacy: Sections 15 and 16;

– Update requirements for Closed Loop Dispensing Systems: Section 18;

– Limit requirements for phosphorus content: Section 14;

– Add data submission requirements for Verification as Annex A;

– Remove Annex B and incorporate unique criteria into body of UL 2700;

– Add product efficacy, ingredient, labeling, and safety requirements for microbial-based cleaning products;

– Revise and update various definitions, corrections, and remove redundant criteria; and

– Revise Standard title
