1 Scope

1.1 These requirements cover water mist system units having a wall mounted targeted water discharge that is normally unpressurized and is intended to control fires occurring in one- and two-family dwellings and manufactured homes in a manner that provides improved protection against injury and life loss.

1.2 These system units are intended to provide supplemental fire protection and are not to be a substitute or replace a separate fire alarm system in a home.

1.3 The system units covered by these requirements are intended to be installed in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Standard on Water Mist Fire Protection Systems for Fire Protection, NFPA 750.
